Fire Department 

The mission of the Gloucester CIty Fire Department is to protect life and property from loss, suffering, and damage due to fire, medical, and environmental emergencies within the City of Gloucester City.  This is achieved through public education, code management, and incident response.

The  Fire Department is a combination of career and volunteer firefighters that provides not only the obvious function of fire suppression, but is also charged with numerous other prevention and protection tasks.  These tasks include emergency medical response; rescue; special operations; public information; code enforcement and fire safety inspections; public education; fire training; alarm, communications, facility, apparatus, and equipment maintenance.
