Continued Flood Recovery

The recent storms have been added to the States post event Disaster Declaration. While we seek to maximize any/all possible State and FEMA Disaster resources to our residents/businesses we seek to provide content expert/best practices to assist in your recovery.

All of the usual places, including a few additional, were impacted by the > 4” of water received in 12-20 hours  which approximates what we receive in the month of June in town.

All City Departments were in an “All Hands Operating” mode during the storms. DPW and Environmental Utilities clearing culverts, filling standpipes, monitoring pump stations wells, placing barricades, etc; FD responding to emergencies including approximately 3-4 dozen dewaterings/rescues, PD assisting with same as well as diverting traffic where needed, etc. Collectively we have been working with our County, State and Federal partners before, during and after the storm.  Preliminary Damage assessments have been performed and continue. Please utilize the below links to assist you in your recovery and know we are here for you as always.

NOTE: As  always if you’re thinking about calling 911 due to a structural and/or safety concern please do so.
